Dwarkadhish Temple in Dwarka:
Dwarka is in Gujarat’s Devbhumi Dwarka district on the Gulf of Kutch’s famous Gomti river. The name Dwarka means ‘the city of gates’. This is also the gateway to emancipation. The Sri Vaishnava Divya Prabhanda lists it as one of the 108 Divya Desams, one of the Seven Holy Cities of India, and one of the sacred Char Dhams. Lord Sri Krishna reigned. It has the respected Dwarkadhish temple, Rukmini temple, and other sacred locations. The architectural and spiritual marvel Dwarkadhish temple honors Lord Krishna as Dwarkadhish (Lord of Dwarka). The temple’s towering spire, elaborate carvings, and bright murals of Lord Krishna’s life draw pilgrims. After the Mahabharata, Krishna’s buddy and confidant Arjuna built the temple. Other shrines include Sri Radha, Sri Rukmini, and Sri Balarama in the temple complex. Religious practices include ‘darshan’ (holy seeing) of the Deity, prayers, and temple circumambulation. Dwarkadhish Temple is a key stop on the Dwaraka Somnath Yatra due to its spirituality.
